Samsung Washer Repair: Common Issues and What to Expect

Samsung front-load and top-load washers are common across the GTA, and most of the repair calls we see fall into a short list of recurring issues.
Unbalanced load errors
Samsung washers are sensitive to uneven load distribution and will stop mid-cycle to protect the drum bearing — redistributing the load, or washing bulky single items with a towel or two, usually resolves it.
Drum bearing wear
A loud grinding or rumbling noise, especially during spin, often points to a worn drum bearing — a repairable but labour-intensive job that's worth quoting against the machine's age before committing.
Door lock faults
A door that won't unlock at the end of a cycle is commonly a failed door lock assembly rather than anything wrong with the drum or motor.
Vibration and movement during spin
Excessive shaking usually comes down to unlevel feet, shipping bolts left in place after installation, or a failed suspension spring or shock absorber. Check that all shipping hardware was removed when the machine was installed — this is a common oversight on newer units.
