Appliance Repair Technician

To ensure the highest quality of service and expertise, we're looking for candidates with one or more of the following certifications:

  1. National Appliance Service Technician Certification (NASTeC): This industry-recognized certification verifies your knowledge and skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining major home appliances. It's a great asset that shows you have a solid foundation in appliance repair.

  2. EPA Section 608 Technician Certification: For technicians working with refrigerants, especially in appliances like refrigerators and air conditioners. This certification ensures you are knowledgeable about the safe handling of refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations.

    • Type I, II, or III or Universal Certification are all relevant, depending on the specific appliances you will work on.

  3. Professional Service Association (PSA) Certifications:

    • Certified Appliance Professional (CAP): Demonstrates expertise in appliance repair, showing that you have met the PSA's standards for service professionals.

    • Master Certified Appliance Professional (MCAP): An advanced certification indicating a higher level of knowledge and proficiency in appliance repair.

  4. Manufacturer-Specific Certifications: If you specialize in certain brands, having manufacturer-specific certifications can be a significant advantage.

    • Whirlpool Factory Certified Care

    • Samsung Certified Appliance Technician

    • LG Certified Appliance Repair Technician

    • Sub-Zero and Wolf Factory Certified Service

    • Bosch Certified Technician

  5. HVAC-R Certifications (Optional):

    • North American Technician Excellence (NATE) Certification: While primarily for HVAC-R technicians, this can be a valuable certification if you also handle heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration in addition to general appliance

  6. Red Seal Certification is a highly respected and recognized certification for skilled trades, including appliance service technicians in Canada. It indicates that a technician has met a national standard of excellence in their trade. repair.

Position Overview

As an Appliance Repair Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of household appliances, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, and more. You will be the face of our company, providing exceptional service and ensuring our customers' appliances are in top working condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of household appliances.

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.

  • Explain repair issues and solutions to customers in a clear and friendly manner.

  • Maintain and manage tools, parts, and equipment.

  • Stay updated on the latest appliance technologies and repair techniques.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in appliance repair or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NASTeC, EPA Section 608, Red Seal) are a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
